San Francisco Police Commissioner Stewart “Mac” McMillan and his amateur detective wife, Sally, tackle puzzling crimes within the high society circles of San Francisco in the fourth season of this TV classic. Mac becomes a suspect in the killing of an anti-cop author, the McMillans’ maid unwittingly puts her life in danger while on jury duty in the trial of a football star, sabotage at an antique car rally leads to murder, and a surprise visit from Mac’s mother, little sister and her fiancé triggers some shocking revelations. Comic relief comes in the form of a memorable supporting cast featuring Nancy Walker (Rhoda) as the wise-cracking housekeeper, Mildred, as well as John Schuck (the Star Trek franchise) who plays Mac`s loyal, but dim-witted assistant Stg.
