Synopsis
From the creative team behind The A-Team and Wiseguy comes RIPTIDE! The first exciting season features 13 episodes following the adventures of the Pier 56/Riptide Detective Agency operating out of sunny King Harbor,California. Perry King and Joe (Jake and the Fatman) Penny star as Cody Allen and Nick Ryder – two former army buddies who decided to open up a private investigation firm with the help of Murray “Boz” Bozinsky (played by Thom Bray), a technically brilliant, but socially incompetent, computer scientist that the guys met while in the military. The action-packed first season finds the team fighting crime and solving mysteries with the help of Murray’s robot (“The Roboz”) and an unlikely array of support vehicles including “the Riptide”(Cody’s houseboat), “the Ebbtide” (a smaller speedboat) and Nick’s aging helicopter (“The Screaming Mimi”). Season One also features Jack Ging as abrasive police Lieutenant Quinlan, Marsha (Night Court) Warfield and Anne Francis as Mama Jo, captain of the all female-crewed “Barefoot Contessa”. Featured guest stars include Dennis (NYPD Blue) Franz, Stepfanie (Hunter) Kramer as well as early appearances from big screen stars Kelly Preston and Geena Davis.
